“WHAT’S THAT?!”

Last night a storm system came through here giving us heavy rains, cool temps and plenty of lightning and thunder. What a good night to be cuddled up with our pups watching Casino Royale, drinking a warm cup of tea.

Unfortunately it just didn’t work out like that. Maggie and Calle barely paid attention to the noise but little Duffy was a mess. We found out the hard way that he is petrified of storms. Even if they are miles away he knows it and can’t settle down. That’s what happened last night. I had gotten ProQuiet to help him but his fear is too strong. After squeezing behind an end table, chair and then of all places our big screen TV, he finally settled down next to me. As he looked up at me I saw the terror in his eyes and I could only reassure him that he was safe.

This morning it was snowing the biggest and prettiest flakes of snow. It was wonderful, snow doesn’t make any sounds and Duffy felt comfortable curled up on the new sofa. He’s safe for now until the next storm then we will go through this all over again.
